Dr Samer Bagaeen, a Chartered Town Planner and Course Leader for the Master of Science in Town Planning at the School of Environment and Technology, has been invited to join the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as a Fellow. In a letter from the RICS President, Dr. Bagaeen was singled out by the RICS for corporate membership as a Fellow (FRICS) because of his "considerable knowledge and experience in the spheres of land, property and construction". It is also worthy of note that Dr. Bagaeen is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy where he is also an Academic Associate. The MSc in Town Planning is a one year Masters programme accredited by both the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and counts both planners and property professionals amongst its alumni.
