A partnership between The University of Brighton and the Sussex Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (IFCA) was recently agreed in order to facilitate links between the two organisations. This new collaboration will not only include IFCA input and teaching on marine-related courses within the School of Environment and Technology, but will allow students to gain valuable experience conducting fieldwork aboard an IFCA vessel 'Watchful' based at Shoreham Port. It is also hoped that this exciting new partnership will lead to research collaborations in order to improve our understanding of inshore marine environments and management strategies for their future protection.
