Dr Samer Bagaeen, Principal Lecturer in Town Planning and Course Leader for the RTPI/RICS accredited Master of Science in Town Planning at the School of Environment and Technology has won the Royal Town Planning Institute Planning Leaders Award for the South East Region. The judging panel felt that the standard of Dr Bagaeen's entry was extremely high and were impressed with his achievements. The standard overall of the submissions was very high and the panel felt that Dr Bagaeen's success against such a strong field was a testimony to his accomplishments. The 2012 RTPI President Colin Haylock launched the Planning Leaders Awards to celebrate members who are leading and inspiring the profession, creating the places of tomorrow. The winner from each UK region will presented with a framed certificate by the RTPI and will also be nationally recognised in Planning Magazine.
