Applied Geology MSc (now called Environmental Geology)
My MSc here allowed me to examine a wide range of earth science topics as well as to go into depth in some particular areas. The lecturers had a wide range of research interest and were able to draw upon a wealth of industrial contacts and experience.
I am currently working as an engineering geologist for Capita Symonds consultants. My work is both office- and site-based, but the types of projects I work on vary so much that no two are the same. In my short time at Capita Symonds I have worked on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), highway engineering, cliff stabilisation and contaminated land projects.
