About the school

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is at the forefront of teaching, research and consultancy in a range of areas:

We provide nursing and midwifery education for practitioners at every stage of their professional lives. Our strengths lie in providing high quality teaching and research with a strong professional and applied focus. We are known for our flexible approaches to practice based learning. A particular strength is our international activity, part of which provides pre- and post-qualifying students with the opportunity to undertake an international exchange.

The school offers a comprehensive range of foundation, honours and masters degrees, PhD (including studentships) and professional doctoral programmes. Our extensive applied research and consultancy activity ensures that these courses are up to date, relevant and serve the needs of both students and employers.

We have demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning and are proud of our reputation for producing highly employable and adaptable graduates and postgraduates.

The school is located in several different sites along the Sussex coast in Brighton (Falmer Campus), Eastbourne (Robert Dodd) and NHS settings in Eastbourne, Hastings, Worthing and East Grinstead. See our maps and directions.

I hope that you find this site informative and useful, and you can be sure that you will receive the warmest of welcomes should you visit for one of our open days, or come and join us to study in a rewarding and stimulating academic environment.
