Nurses and midwives: what's your next step?

Have you thought about becoming a health visitor or school nurse?

Health visiting pathway

NHS-funded (no fees) – undergraduate and masters courses available for February 2014

The government's 'Action on health visiting' programme has increased opportunities to qualify as a health visitor. You would be sponsored by a local health trust for the one year duration of the courses which are delivered at both undergraduate and masters levels. On successful completion you will gain an academic award and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a specialist community public health nurse: health visiting.

To be eligible for the course you need to have an active registration as a nurse in any field of practice, or as a midwife.

The next available course starts in February 2014, and the application process for trust sponsorship will be open through NHS jobs between 2 September and 27 September 2013.
