Exchange student experiences
Romania

Thinking about doing a foreign elective? Do it! I had a fantastic time in the Carol Davila Nursing College in Bucharest, Romania. The experience is something that I'll never forget. Once you've managed to survive the crowded streets, the cram packed buses and the crazy driving, there's a whole lot to appreciate. Here you'll come across people who despite being poor are so generous.

Going to Romania allows you to acknowledge practice where staff manage with the little resources they have to provide the best care that they can, and it provides an opportunity to compare practice with your own. I personally found the hospital experience very humbling, I learnt a lot and it reinforced how lucky I am to be a part of the NHS.

Overall I have developed friendships with the girls that I went with and I made new friends out in Romania. We were well looked after and they went out of their way to make our time one never to be forgotten.

Multimesc Romania! (thank you, Romania!)
