CPE open day attracts 280 delegates
The first Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Open Day was held on Wednesday 29 April 2009. Over 280 delegates were booked in to attend which ensured a very busy day for our team of advisers.
Prospective students came from as far and wide as Sussex, Surrey, London and even Ireland, seeking advice and information on courses for their professional development.
The feedback from the prospective students attending has been very positive and most are intending to apply for modules, pathways and courses for the next academic year. Many commented on how helpful it was to have the personal touch from knowledgeable course leaders on hand to help them. We also saw large numbers of past students who wanted to come back and study with us again and an added bonus was the considerable interest in our pre-registration nursing and midwifery programmes.
The event demonstrated a real need amongst healthcare professionals for careers advice and Debbie Hatfield was very busy in her role as CPE learning adviser, helping nurses navigate through the wide selection of course and modules, tailoring the courses to their needs and ensuring their previous studies and experience was used to full effect.
Thanks to all the administration and academic staff who made the day such a success. We hope to run similar events to this again in the future, details of which will be posted in our events calendar.
If you are hoping to apply for modules and courses starting in 2009/10, please hurry as the deadline is 30 June 2009. For more information call us now on 01273 644016 or email namcpeadmissions@brighton.ac.uk
