Carol Williams, senior lecturer in the school, has recently spoken at two international events on infant feeding.

Carol was a round table speaker the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine's 4th European Regional Meeting for Physicians in Trieste, Italy, organised in collaboration with the Institute for Maternal and Child Health IRCCS Burlo Garofolo. This event took place in May. Carol spoke on experiences and challenges in countries implementing the Baby Friendly Initiative, and on continuing breastfeeding and the timing of the introduction of complementary foods.

On 28 June 2012, Carol was a keynote speaker by video link at the international 'Strengthening Infant and Young Child Feeding Programming and Planning for Emergency Preparedness and Response' five-day workshop in London organised by the United Nations interagency standing committee (IASC) Global Nutrition Cluster, UNICEF's IYCN Group and the UK Save the Children Fund. At this event she spoke on complementary feeding of infants in emergencies.
