Sally Boyle has joined the School of Nursing and Midwifery as the new deputy head of school.
Sally trained as an adult nurse in London in the late 70s and staffed in an oncology unit. After a short while she undertook midwifery training in Hertfordshire where she worked as a staff midwife and later a midwifery sister. Inspired by one of her own lecturers in the early stages of her career, Sally decided she wanted to inspire others and work in education, and has worked in a variety of educational roles since 1986.
Sally says: "I am very excited about my new role with the University of Brighton. A key focus of my job is on your experience as students during your journey to become qualified as professionals in your chosen field. I am meeting with as many students as possible to find out what is important to them to ensure that our student experience is the best it can be."
