Paul Relf is currently working as a Senior Staff Nurse in the Accident and Emergency Unit at Eastbourne District General Hospital. He works in the Acute NHS Hospital providing 24hrs emergency care to the locality of Eastbourne and surrounding area. Eastbourne A&E saw approximately 50,000 new attendances last year.
Paul says "My job involves the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating of individual programmes of patient care utilising research as appropriate and supporting junior colleagues. I also manage my own designated area or act as the shift co-ordinator responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit. My role is varied and involves me communicating with a wide range of individuals to meet patient's needs. For the future, I hope to gain a Charge Nurse post in A&E, and to undertake a Masters course and become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and I'm hoping to study again at Brighton".
