Mouth swabs are being taken from volunteers at gay venues in Brighton and Hove to gather new data on HIV risk patterns, prevention needs, and local prevalence, as part of an international research project.

The faculty has been successful in two bids for funding from the National Institute for Health Research.

Two physiotherapists and one nurse are currently completing the internship programme at the University of Brighton from September 2012 to March 2013.

Twelve fully funded places will be available for each of the next three years on the Clinical Research MRes course in the Faculty of Health and Social Science.
