The university and the School of Health Professions have a strong commitment to working with partners in the local community in Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings and the surrounding areas. Staff and students are active in a variety of ways.
One of the current initiatives is our research group, part of the Clinical Research Centre.
Wellbeing, Health and Occupation into Older People (WHOOP) research group
The group, chaired by Professor Ann Moore and supported by a research officer, Lisa Hodgson, consists of 39 members in addition to the academics and voluntary organisations involved. Involvement has grown to also include many members of the local older people's community in WHOOP research activities. You can contact Lisa Hodgson for more details or to suggest ideas for further engagement with the community around Eastbourne.
