Former students from the School of Health Professions have contributed to the success of the school by going on to perform outstandingly well in their chosen careers.
Each year the university carries out a destination survey which investigates and analyses the numbers of the university's graduates entering employment or further study, six months after completing their course. Last year 90 per cent of graduates from the University of Brighton had entered employment or further study.
A second destination survey is done after three-and-a-half years and the last survey carried out in 2010 showed that 96 per cent of the university's graduates were employed or undertaking further study, with over 75 per cent working at 'graduate level' i.e. undertaking work requiring degree-level skills and understanding.
A recent analysis found that the vast majority of the school's alumni are now employed in senior positions in industry as well as academia. In fact, our alumni are employed in a wide range of positions with organisations based in over 50 countries worldwide.
They include:
- Chief biomedical scientist for NHS Trust East Sussex
- Head of physiotherapy at Birmingham Children’s Hospital
- Senior chiropodist at Boots Healthcare
- Clinical lecturer at University of Brighton
- Various physiotherapy and podiatry positions across the country.
