Students can put together a programme of study which reflects both their needs and those of the workforce. They may choose to take a single module for CPD or put several modules together for an award of Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate, BSc or MSc.
Courses are designed as full- or part-time courses which, because of the modular structure can be completed full-time in 1-2 years or part-time in a minimum of 2 years or a maximum of 6 years. The normal pattern of part-time study for an MSc course would involve the study of 3 modules per year for 2 years followed by a dissertation period.
Short CPD courses which run over one or two days are also offered by the school. Examples of recent courses include:
- Sports Physiotherapy
- Prescription only medicine update (POM)
Most of the modules available in the school are suitable for a range of health professionals and so encourage interdisciplinary learning, which enriches the student experience. Module assignments are varied and can usually be tailored to the individual student's area of interest allowing strong links between theory and practice.
As many of our students are employed in the NHS and their Personal Development Plans relate to the Knowledge and Skills Framework examples of how module learning outcomes have been mapped against KSF Dimensions are included.
These courses provide an opportunity for successful students to significantly enhance their career development. Feedback from students who have completed these courses shows that they have progressed their careers in management and education, to higher levels of study and/or clinical specialisation.
We hope that you find something of interest here.
