Applications are invited for a three-year full-time PhD studentship funded by the Arthritic Association to students from the UK and the EU.
The Clinical Research Centre for Health Professions of the University of Brighton and the Arthritic Association are working together to study the biomechanical mechanisms underlying arthritic conditions and non-specific low back pain. The Arthritic Association is a charity which has been established since 1942 helping sufferers of arthritis to recover.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in muscle tone, viscoelastic properties of spinal muscles and vertebral alignment in subjects with arthritic conditions and non-specific back pain.
