Ten students in the first cohort of the Graduate Certificate Rheumatology Practice graduated from the University of Brighton in a ceremony at The Dome on 8 February 2008.
This two-year, part-time, distance learning course for qualified health professionals is the first of its kind in the UK, and indeed the world. Its innovative partnership with arc (Arthritis Research Campaign) combines distance learning and practice-based learning with study days held at specialised rheumatology teaching centres around the UK.
This year it has seen a variety of health professionals specialising within the field of rheumatology complete a programme of education to advance professional practice, service development and promote a wider understanding of interdisciplinary working.
