NCOR hosts one-day research conference'Osteopathy - art and science'

National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR) based at the University of Brighton hosted a one day research conference within Advancing Osteopathy 2008 on the 1 February 2008 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London.

Prior to this event a welcome reception was held in Drapers' hall at the City of London, were representatives of NCOR including Professor Ann Moore and Carol Fawkes (NCOR Research Officer) were presented to the Prince of Wales.

The conference, Osteopathy - art and science was opened by Professor Ann Moore and the whole of the development day of the conference was organised by Carol Fawkes.

Carol Fawkes, NCOR research officer, Dr Janine Leach, Senior Research Fellow and two of our PhD students Tim McClune and Jo Zamani presented papers and participated in the symposium discussions during the event.

Professor Raymond Lee, Professor of Biomechanics also delivered a lecture on "Clinical biomechanics - what's in it for osteopaths?"

NCOR was also featured very strongly in a recent publication by GOsC "GOOD HEALTH IN GOOD HANDS, UK Osteopathy Today" to celebrate its 10th anniversary of statutory regulation of osteopathy in the United Kingdom.
