Physiotherapists offer free advice on the streets of Eastbourne

Published 04.05.10

The team from Physiotherapy at the Leaf (School of Health Professions) were once again out in force in Eastbourne town centre during the Eastbourne Festival this April.

Physiotherapy at the Leaf is a physiotherapy clinic providing advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients in the Eastbourne and East Sussex area. It is a University of Brighton-run project, in partnership with East Sussex Downs and Weald PCT and is based at the Leaf Hospital, in Eastbourne.

The team, including Chartered Physiotherapists Matt Daly and Nikki Petty, were offering a free advisory service to local shoppers suffering with musculoskeletal aches and pains.

"Once again the sun shone for us during our trip onto the streets of Eastbourne," principal lecturer Nikki Petty explains.

"We spoke to shoppers suffering from a range of aches and pains including problems with their neck, back, feet, elbows, wrists and shoulders. We helped them to better manage their problems and where necessary told them to seek further advice. Some of the people we met are going to come in and see us again at the clinic"

If you are suffering from musculoskeletal aches and pains and would like to know more about the clinic, visit the website at www.leaftherapy.co.uk. You can book an appointment at the clinic by calling us on 01323 645555.
