Congratulations to Serena Naidoo, a student on our Podiatry with Rheumatology MSc programme, on winning a £3,500 Curriers' Company Millennium Healthcare Bursary to support her dissertation research.
Serena's project will investigate the current usage of social media by people from inner London boroughs with rheumatoid arthritis, and then aims to use this information to develop a social media platform to enhance accessibility to healthcare for those sufferers.
The Millennium Healthcare Bursary is awarded by the Worshipful Company of Curriers, one of the 108 Livery Companies of the City of London. The bursary provides financial support for primary healthcare professionals to carry out research or personal study into ways of improving healthcare amongst the under-privileged sectors of London's population.
The company's trustees commended the high quality of Serena's submission to the bursary scheme and the interesting nature of her research project.
