The School of Health Professions, podiatry division, is the first in the UK to join the European Network of Podiatry in Higher Education (ENPODHE). The aim of the ENPODHE network is to bring together and enhance collaboration between podiatry educational institutions across Europe.
Maria Young, senior lecturer, said: "ENPODHE offers a forum for us to exchange educational developments, develop curricula and share best practice and knowledge to support and encourage standards of high quality education in podiatry. It also opens up opportunities for staff and students to work with a variety of European educational institutions. By joining this network we will be better placed to establish and maintain contacts and exchange information with other national and international bodies, organisations, and with the European authorities, and facilitate collaborative research projects with members."
The University of Brighton has been an educational leader in the field of podiatry for over 25 years, developing and awarding the first podiatry degrees in the UK. In fact the university is one of only thirteen in the UK currently approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has been recognised as excellent by podiatry's professional body, the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. With an outstanding record for undergraduate, postgraduate and research fields, the School of Health Professions continues to be a centre of excellence for allied health professions education and research.
