Research

The Clinical Research Centre for Health Professions led by Professor Ann Moore is the central focus for the School of Health Professions research activities.

Research activity within the Clinical Research Centre for Health Professions is divided into three groups:

Each research group is supported by a research officer and a research administrator and research group meetings are held on a regular basis.

For example, the applied pedagogic research group is attended by approximately 20 staff from across the school and the Wellbeing, Health and Occupation research group has a membership of 20 staff from the School of Health Professions but also has members attending from across the university as well as members from local agencies, for example Age Concern, WRVS and Hastings Seniors' Forum. Doctoral students are welcome to attend these group meetings and to do so when feasible.

Research networks and collaborations

We also host two research networks, the National Council for Osteopathic Research and the National Physiotherapy Research Network.

We have a wide range of collaborators in the UK and abroad including those developed through founding membership of a specialist European musculoskeletal research collaboration.

  • Karolinska Institute (Sweden) for occupational science research (Sadlo);
  • Collaborative links with John Richardson (Open University) for work investigating students experiences of problem based learning (Sadlo);
