The Clinical Research Centre hosts three national initiatives, the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR), Allied Health Professions Research Network (AHPRN), and the National Association of Educators in Practice (NAEP). NCOR and the AHPRN are each supported by a full-time research officer based in the Clinical Research Centre; both of these initiatives are led by the Director of the Clinical Research Centre. These developments have put the centre in close contact with all institutions delivering osteopathic undergraduate education in the United Kingdom and with the range of osteopaths across the United Kingdom. Close links have also been established with the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association. Carol Fawkes is the research officer supporting NCOR.
The Allied Health Professions Research Network consists of 20 research hubs which are based in, or have close contact with, higher education institutions nationally. There are also two hubs based in Southern Ireland. The research officer is based in the CRC and has frequent contact with the hub numbers. If you have queries about the AHPRN, please contact Laura Bottomley, L.M.Bottomley@Brighton.ac.uk.
These two initiatives broaden our contacts for research collaboration very widely. They have both been exciting new ventures and a report from each of them is to be found on their respective pages.
