Located in the pleasant Meads area with the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club nearby, our campus is perfectly positioned in this charming seaside town.

Eastbourne is particularly suited for residential conferences during the summer months, day meetings over weekends or university vacation periods, and evening seminars or lectures throughout the year.

Our conference facilities in Eastbourne are spread over our two university sites and include:

  • three tiered lecture theatres seating 240, 220 and 100
  • a hall that seats 120
  • 30 seminar rooms seating from 10 to 60.

Sports facilities

There are excellent sports facilities on site including an indoor swimming pool, three gymnasiums, an outdoor artificial turf pitch, a sports hall and tennis courts. All are available for hire.

Food and drink

We can provide a range of refreshments for your delegates, from light snacks to hot or cold buffets or full banquets. We use seasonal and sustainable fresh ingredients where possible and all our tea, coffee and sugar is Fairtrade.

Restaurants and cafés

Sprinters Restaurant can accommodate 200 for a seated buffet or 150 in banqueting style.

Greynore Restaurant can accommodate 200 for a seated buffet or 150 in banqueting style.

Stokers Bar and function room near the halls of residence can accommodate up to 100 people and is available for hire.

Accommodation for residential events

We have 354 single en-suite bedrooms available in Welkin Halls in Eastbourne during July, August and September. The accommocation consists of self-contained flats of up to six single en-suite bedrooms (including private shower, WC, wash basin) with shared kitchen/communal area.

Our halls are avaialble from July to September.

The Studio

The Studio in Eastbourne is a flexible space which combines a commercial kitchen with a demonstration restaurant and conference facility.

It is perfect for

  • team-building days
  • menu development
  • product and equipment testing
  • live demonstrations
  • focus groups
  • food sampling.

Facilities include a  commercial open-plan restaurant and kitchen with four cooking  stations.  Technological equipment including programmable mood lighting.  There are also two adjacent conference rooms for up to 60 delegates.

Accessibility

We do have classrooms and lecture theatres located on the ground floor that are suitable for wheelchair users, and inductions loops are fitted in some classrooms. Bedrooms especially adapted for wheelchair users are also available.

Travel

Eastbourne station is approximately a 15-minute walk from the campus. A taxi costs approximately £3.50 from the station.

Car parking

There is free on-street parking for cars in the area.
