Located on the edge of the South Downs, our Falmer campus is set in picturesque surroundings with beautiful views of the Sussex countryside. This site is particularly suited for residential conferences during the summer months and day meetings during the weekend or university vacation periods.

Conference and meeting facilities
Lecture theatres and seminar rooms
We have conference facilities and meeting rooms in the Checkland building, Mayfield House and Westlain House, all of which are located on one campus within a convenient walk for the halls of residence. Rooms include:
- four tiered lecture theatres seating 277, 250, 160 and 100
- 30 seminar rooms across the campus, with capacities from 8 to 70.
Food and drink
We can provide a range of refreshments for your delegates, from light snacks to hot or cold buffets or full banquets. We use seasonal and sustainable fresh ingredients where possible and all our tea, coffee and sugar is Fairtrade.

Restaurants and cafés
Westlain Restaurant can accommodate 200 for a seated buffet or 150 in banqueting style.
Westlain Café and Bar can seat 50.
Checkland Café can seat 40.
Accommodation for residential events
There are 350 single en-suite bedrooms available on the Falmer campus during July, August and September. They are divided into split-level self-contained flats of up to eight bedrooms with a shared kitchen/communal area.

Accessibility
We do have classrooms and lecture theatres located on the ground floor that are suitable for wheelchair users, and inductions loops are fitted in some classrooms. Bedrooms especially adapted for wheelchair users are also available.
Travel
Trains
Falmer has its own train station. It is an eight-minute journey from Brighton train station on the Brighton/Lewes/Hastings line. Falmer station is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the campus.
Buses
There is a bus stop on the campus where the 25 city bus and 43 big lemon bus run regularly to and from Brighton city centre.
Car parking
There is free car parking on site. The campus is conveniently located just off the A27 highway.
