Conference and meeting facilities
Lecture theatres and seminar rooms
We have conference facilities and meeting rooms in our Grand Parade building and the Pavilion Parade building both of which are a few minutes’ walk from each other. These include:
- two lecture theatres seating 50 and 90 people
- the Sallis Benney theatre which seats 270 people
- 15 Seminar Rooms varying in capacities from 20 to 65.

Overview |
The Sallis Benney Theatre is a versatile space in the centre of Brighton. As well as hosting music and theatre events, it is also used for one-day conferences, exhibitions and award ceremonies. Refurbished in 2007, today the theatre is is a key venue for exciting live events in the city including theatre, comedy, dance and live music. There is a fully stocked café/bar, and the foyer has the space for setting up a welcome or registration desk, along with a cloakroom and box office. |

It can also accommodate cabaret-style seating or alternative staging options, such as in-the-round, thrust or traverse. Backstage, two dressing rooms accommodate up to 30 performers and secure storage is available for equipment and personal belongings. |

University of Brighton Gallery
The University of Brighton Gallery, is on the ground floor at the front of the Grand Parade building and overlooks Brighton's Victoria Gardens. It is a leading exhibition space in the city, often showcasing retrospectives from world-famous artists.
Approximately 225m2, the gallery can hold around 200 guests. Although it is a programmed space and not available to hire for exhibitions, it can be hired for functions.
Food and drink
We can provide a range of refreshments for your delegates, from light snacks to hot or cold buffets or full banquets. We use seasonal and sustainable fresh ingredients where possible and all our tea, coffee and sugar is Fairtrade.

From July to the end of September, there are 255 en-suite rooms available in the nearby Phoenix Halls of residence.

Restaurants and cafés
The café/bar that serves the Sallis Benney Theatre can accommodate up to 200 for a standing buffet.
The Grand Parade Café is a very light, airy space perfect for refreshment breaks. It can accommodate up to 75 guests for a seated buffet.
Accessibility
We do have classrooms and lecture theatres located on the ground floor that are suitable for wheelchair users, and inductions loops are fitted in some classrooms. Bedrooms especially adapted for wheelchair users are also available.
Travel
The meeting venues and residential accommodation at Grand Parade are all within a 15-minute walk of Brighton train station and well-served by numerous bus routes.
Car parking
There is limited on street parking around Grand Parade. There is limited free onsite parking available to residential guests staying at our Phoenix Halls of Residence.
