New Year, New You?

The start of the year often brings a time of reflection and goal setting. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and many will be looking to get healthy for the New Year or even just get more active to socialise. Sport Brighton has a range of services helping you to achieve your goals. If you have a health or fitness related goal and you are not sure what would be good for you, then why not pop in to one of our receptions and ask for some advice? The best way to achieve your goal will differ depending on what you would enjoy. Different people suit different types of activity. Sport Brighton offer a range of services which will hopefully have something fun and enjoyable for you.

Below are some of the ways you can keep active:

Student Clubs

Student clubs at the university are run by students for students under the Sports Federation. These clubs are subsidised so they can offer a great and cheap way to take part in a number of different activities. For details of the clubs on offer take a look at our guide:

Some of the team sports are half way through their season but some may still welcome members. Contact them for more details.

Recreational sports programmes

Recreational sports programmes are run by Sport Brighton to offer fun and sociable opportunities to participate in sport. There are a number of programmes this year run under the banner of Parklife. More information on these programmes will be available shortly on the Recreational Sports section of this site.

Classes

Want to keep fit but like the idea of some guidance, motivation from an instructor and others around you? Our class programme has a wide range of affordable classes which you can just turn up to on a week by week basis. At the start of the year we get really busy and some classes have limited capacity. We suggest you book on to your class in advance at one of our Sport Brighton receptions. For details of our latest class programme visit the timetables section of the website. If you come regularly then ask about our loyalty card to get further rewards.

Membership

If you want access to the university fitness rooms then you will need to take out membership. Membership not only gives access to the fitness rooms but also free or discounted use of the pool in Eastbourne and classes. You also get member privileges when booking courts and classes. For more information see the memberships section of the website.

Leaflets and information about all our services can be found on our website pages and at our receptions at Cockcroft, Falmer and Eastbourne.
