The university’s Sports Awards nominations have now closed. The Sports Federation will recognise teams, club and individuals in the following categories:

• Club of the year
• Team of the year
• Most outstanding achievement of the year
• Volunteer of the year
• Coach of the year
• Full colours
• Half colours

The awards recognise both sporting success as well as overall contribution to sport either as a volunteer, coach or charity contributor. The eventual winners will be announced at the Sports Awards Dinner. The dinner this year will be held at the Winter Garden in Eastbourne on Saturday 12th May. Last year’s awards were celebrated by over 250 students, staff and community members.

Award winners are selected by an awards committee made up of students and staff at the university and are based on the nominations received. Michelle Bennett the Deputy Head of Sport said ‘there is so much to celebrate in terms of Brighton's sporting achievements. The awards committee will be sure to have a hard task to pick the winners.’

Nominations closed at 11.59pm on Thursday 19th April.

Tickets are on sale from Sport Brighton receptions: Monday 16th April until Sunday 6th May.

Price (includes 3 course meal, wine for toasts, travel for Brighton students and after dinner party): £32
