School of Service Management International Event Management MA students Alessia Fioranzi and Giuseppe di Floria have won a competition organised by the CIPC (Comité International Pierre De Coubertin).
Alessia and Giuseppe entered a 2,750 word essay for the competition that explored the relationship between the concept of Olympic games.
The prize for winning the competition was £2000 as well as the opportunity to be offered an internship or placement at one of the main sponsors of the London 2012 Olympics. This could be at Coca Cola, McDonalds or British Airways.
Head of school Paul Frost was delighted for both students. He said: “I am really pleased that Alessia and Giuseppe have won this award after all the hard work they have put in. At the School of Service Management we are proud of the employability skills of our students. Alessia and Giuseppe will both have opportunity to gain experience working at one of the major companies who are sponsoring the London 2012 Olympics”.
