About us
The School of Service Management at the University of Brighton was one of the first university schools in the country to provide degree-level courses in tourism, travel, hospitality, retail and events. We have been conducting learning and research in this field for over 20 years.
We have 680 students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level. With students coming from over 20 countries, we are a truly international community. Graduates go on to enjoy successful careers across the world.
Courses
Both our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are developed in close liaison with industry. Many courses involve professional accreditation. The school has always been highly innovative in its approach and has a substantial international reputation both with industry as a provider of high calibre graduates and in the academic world for the quality of its teaching, learning and research.

Research and consultancy
The significance of the school's research is recognised both nationally and internationally. The school's international symposium on aspects of tourism, which is now in its 6th year, attracts delegates from all over the world. Many commercially success organisations use the school's expertise and facilities to support the continued development of their businesses and staff.
Facilities and location
The school is located in a glorious area of Eastbourne, with library, study, accommodation, social and sporting facilities of the highest calibre. There are some 2000 students based on the university’s Eastbourne campus.
