About our catering

Hospitality Services provide comprehensive and varied food and beverage facilities across the university. These include numerous cash outlets for students, staff and visitors as well as a full hospitality service for meetings, functions and events.

We aim to provide high quality products and services in all areas of the business, offering value for money and welcome feedback from our customers and stakeholders.

Sustainable Food

Whilst providing our customers with the services they demand we are also mindful of the impact we have on the local economy and the environment. Our sustainable food policy provides details of our commitments, achievements and aims.

Fairtrade

The university holds Fairtrade status and Hospitality Services play an active role in promoting Fairtrade through the continued expansion of the product range. As members of the university's Fairtrade steering group we are also actively involved in awareness raising events and campaigns.

Food for all

We aim to provide a wide and varied selection of food and beverage services in all areas. Where possible we make every effort to meet demand for individual special dietary needs and have been recognised for the standard of our vegetarian offer as a Vegetarian Society recommended business.

Wellbeing

All our team members have attended nutritional workshops and we aim to provide balanced services that reflect the university's wellbeing initiative. We understand the importance of the relationships between physical and mental health and place particular focus on the planning of nutritionally balanced meals for students in catered halls. In recognition of our work in this area we have been recognised by Food for the Brain.

Scores on the Doors

All our kitchens are regularly inspected by the local authority respective to the location of our operations. All have been awarded high scores demonstrating the highest professional standards of food hygiene, food production systems management, and cleanliness.
