Funding

UK and EU postgraduates starting in 2013

Most postgraduate students are not entitled to any statutory funding, and the majority are self-financing. Before you begin your course you should make sure that you have adequate funds to cover your living costs for the duration of your course.

There is additional funding available for social work and PGCE courses.


University of Brighton studentships

The university's Doctoral College administers postgraduate studentships for research degrees including

  • university-funded studentships;
  • funded case projects in collaboration with local and national companies; and
  • studentships obtained from UK Research Councils.

Santander international masters scholarships

Up to eight masters scholarships funded by the Santander Group, worth a reduction of £5,000 off the cost of your tuition fees, are available to new full-time international and some EU (Portuguese and Spanish) taught postgraduate degree students.

Santander research scholarships

Two research scholarships worth £5,000 each, funded by Santander Universities, will be available for new and existing University of Brighton research students registered on programmes intended to lead to doctoral awards.

Professional and Career Development Loans

Professional and Career Development Loans (PCDL) are available to full-time, part-time and distance learning UK students on vocational courses. They are intended to help pay for up to two years of study (three years if your study includes a year of work experience).
