What funding is available

It is very important that you make sure that you have enough money to cover the cost of your tuition fees and living expenses before you begin your course.

Possible sources of funding

You should contact your local British Council Offices (the address in your country can be found by contacting your local British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate) to see what awards may be available to you.

The following organisations offer grants and sponsorship to international students, please contact them directly if you are seeking assistance.

  • Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) - for Commonwealth students
  • ODA shared Scholarship Scheme - for Commonwealth students
  • The Sino-British Friendship Scholarship Scheme (SBFSO) - for Chinese students
  • Fulbright Graduate Student Awards - for US students
  • Commonwealth Programme for South Africa, Commonwealth Nassau Fellowships and British Undergraduate Fellowships - for South African students
  • Chevening Scholarship - various countries
