Money advice for students

How much are my fees

Postgraduate courses have either standard or non-standard fees. Tuition fees for postgraduate courses generally rise by a small amount each year, in line with inflation. You can check the fees in the course finder

Part-time courses

Fees for part-time postgraduate courses are calculated according to how many modules you choose to study in a year. For example, if you study half of the modules that a full-time student would study, you will pay 50% of the full-time fee.

You will find the full-time fees for courses listed in the course finder.

Advice for students with existing qualifications

The Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills has changed the way that the government funds higher education. These changes affect the funding for new and returning students:

  • who already have a degree or higher education qualification
  • who have been accepted to do another course at the same or lower level than the highest qualification already held (known as an ELQ: equivalent or lower qualification), and
  • who are starting or continuing their course in 2009 or after.

What are the changes?
For applicants starting in 2009 or after, students wanting to study a qualification at an equivalent or lower level than the highest level qualification already held will be charged the same level of fee as international students, and will be eligible for the same terms and conditions in respect of payment discounts and fee levels.

Exemptions
A student with a PGCE and no other postgraduate qualification will pay the same level of fees as other UK and EU students.
