The reasons I did the foundation degree was for a career change from admin work and to work towards setting up my own business. I was also attracted to the idea of doing a 2 year course rather than 3 years. Studying for the degree at City College was very convenient for me as I already lived in Brighton.
It's good because the course runs only 2/3 days a week which enables you to work part-time. It gives you the option of either finishing your studies at 2 years, like myself, or continuing on to a 3rd year and completing a BA Honours degree.
During the course I completed my work experience in a cafe. I continued working there part-time whilst completing my course and I have now taken over the lease and am running it as my own profitable business. The advice and guidance of my experienced lecturers definitely helped me achieve this.
