Medicine BMBS

I have always wanted to be a doctor. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started my course but, by the end of the first year, I was sure that medicine was for me – and that Brighton was the best course.

The course structure mixes academic with clinical work and, from the very beginning, we have patient contact in GP and hospital rotations. Seeing real-life conditions that we are learning about in class really puts them into context and, I find, crystallises the experience. Staff are very approachable, encouraging and supportive. I love the fact that I know everyone in my year. We are quite a tight-knit community – everyone helps each other.

There are a lot of things I like about Brighton. I love the diversity of the town – you can go out and meet practically anyone from anywhere! The nightlife is really good – it’s a cliché but there really is something for everyone. I love walking by the sea and up on the South Downs. The scenery is beautiful. Coming to university has been a life-changing experience. I'm having such a good time academically and socially. I can't feel anything limiting me and my progress. I can do exactly what I need to do to achieve my dream!
