I found the first week at university really enjoyable. The university organised loads of entertainment as well as socials, encouraging us as new students to integrate and develop friendships.
I found it really easy to settle in as halls are a great opportunity to meet people. I felt that everyone was in the same situation. The best place to meet people is during freshers week.
I lived in Moulsecoomb halls and have really enjoyed it. It's been easy to meet people. I lived with seven other people in a house with two communal bathrooms and toilets and one communal kitchen.
The advice I would give for the first year is to have lots of fun, but keeping on top of the work. I think I would also advise to talk to people at the university if and when you have a major problem as they are here to help.
