Language and Linguistics Research MPhil

My previous university recommended Brighton for language research and, when I came down to check the place out, I realised that it is also a really great city. The best thing of all is that the department works as a real team - staff and students are all committed to working together. You get great support from your tutors and supervisors, and the resources are excellent.

Brighton is a very laid-back city - the atmosphere is more like Greece than other places I've been to in the UK! Unfortunately it's not so hot but it does have a fantastic beach life. Also there's so much going on culturally and there are lots of pavement cafes, great pubs and restaurants. My friends in London prefer to come here to see me now.

Brighton has been a very positive, interesting experience for me. It's been hard work but fun. If I had the chance, I'd stay in Brighton as I like it so much.
