Graphic Design BA(Hons)

I looked at a lot of universities and was most impressed by the open days at Brighton. The graphics course leader was very organised and knew what he was talking about. At the open days we looked around the design studios – they were great spaces for working in. I used to live in Brighton and I always wanted to come back.

Graphic design covers a lot of subjects in visual communication. We cover basic theories like typography very thoroughly so that our creative work is grounded in good design theory. We all work and hang out in the studios together most days.

I'm lucky enough to live in the centre of town where practically everything I need is close by. There are plenty of things for students in Brighton where you don't have to spend lots of money. I really like the Duke of York art-house cinema where they show unusual films and documentaries not shown elsewhere.

Ideally when I finish my course I'd like to work in a small graphics studio. We get a lot of help with business advice, work on our portfolios and I'm already setting up my own website so that I can market myself after graduation.
