Physiotherapy BSc(Hons)
I chose to study physiotherapy because I wanted to make a difference to people's lives – help make them better. I was the first physiotherapy Access student from Hastings College of Arts and Technology.
Physiotherapy at Brighton has an excellent reputation. The course is tougher than I thought it would be. I did well in my Access course but the degree is another academic level. I'm working very hard and improving all the time. My personal tutor is incredible – she's very supportive and available when I need her. I've recently completed a three week placement at a local hospital. It really opened my eyes to what is possible in this profession. I was pleased how well I coped with such a range of patients and problems.
I'm a single parent and I couldn't be in full-time education without the support of my friends and family. Attendance on the course is very important so it's crucial that I have reliable childcare.
Doing this course is giving me huge satisfaction. It will enable me to provide a better future for my daughter and me. And, after my junior rotation, we're going on the trip of a lifetime to Machu Picchu in Peru. I can't wait!
