Car sharing

Next time you walk down the street, have a look at the queues of cars. And start counting: 'Just the driver.....just the driver.....just the driver...' and usually, on it goes.

Reducing single occupancy vehicle use can be done not only by encouraging more people to cycle, walk and take public transport, but also by car sharing!

So if you know of other staff/student friends or acquaintances that also drive, why not suggest sharing?

Another example (and this is being done!) if you are a lecturer in Eastbourne and you know most of your students live in Brighton, why not encourage car sharing between students?

Cooking Oil to the Big Lemon

All waste cooking oil produced by Residential and Catering Services and the Students Union is recycled for use in the Big Lemon bus. The oil, which would otherwise end up in landfill after cooking your chips is used as biodiesel and helps transport our students and staff to and from the various Brighton campuses.
