Sustainability Action Network

The Sustainability Action Network (SAN) is a grassroots collective of students and staff of the University of Brighton that meet to discuss, debate and enact on sustainability issues.

It was formerly called the Environmental Action Network, but it's not only about being 'green'. It's about hearing people's opinions, making the university a better place to work and study and taking action! Here are just a few of them...

  • Thanks to the SAN the university now has an Ethical Investment Policy
  • £250 has been awarded to each SAN as part of the Health Promoting University scheme - have an idea?
  • Staff from the Falmer SAN have started a litter picking campaign
  • Students from the Grand Parade SAN and Sustainable Design MA organised the first even Designers' Accord meeting in the UK

Cycle access to Falmer campus

The Sustainability Action Network has continuously helped to improve the situation for cyclists getting to the Falmer campus. There is a new route under construction through the Aldridge Academy which enables cyclists step-free access to reach the campus.
