Staff volunteering scheme at the university

As part of its commitment to community engagement, the University of Brighton has established a pilot scheme, which enables members of staff to take part in a wide range of voluntary opportunities in the local community.

The scheme is organised through the Community University Partnership Programme (CUPP) and will run between November 2010 and October 2011 offering up to five days of contracted hours (pro-rata for part time staff) for volunteering activities to academic, professional and support staff.

This is a unique and forward-looking initiative - to find out more and get involved, visit the staff volunteering page on the CUPP website.

Staff in Moulsecoomb have also been volunteering at the UoB Food Co-op Society. If you want to find out more,

Litter Picking in Falmer

Members of the Falmer Sustainability Action Network started a litter picking campaign to keep the site enjoyable and clean. They remove littler from the surrounding woodland too, keeping local wildlife safe and improving the experience for ramblers.
