Policies and strategies for sustainability

The University of Brighton’s commitment to Sustainable Development is clearly stated in its Strategic Plan 2012-2015:

"We want Brighton staff and students to be known for their commitment to impact, community and sustainability in their chosen field.”

This commitment is not restricted to the management of the university Estates and Facilities, but to everything from procurement, through investment, management practices and student and staff 'life and work' on our campuses.

Ethical Investment Policy

In early 2010 the university adopted an ethical investment policy - and this was largely brought about by pressure and suggestions from staff and students. This goes to show that the Sustainability Action Network can really make a difference.
