We are taking a range of steps to provide care and support to any of our students who test positive or who need to self-isolate to ensure that:
- They are contacted and have opportunities to raise any personal concerns, including if they have any underlying health issues
- They have access to government guidance and advice on self-isolation and are able to seek medical advice from a local GP if required
- They have access to food, laundry and other essentials
- They are able to access a wide range of student support and wellbeing services
- Those who are able can to continue to engage with their studies via remote learning
Students living in halls of residence are supported by our Residential Life advisers. Those living in private accommodation who test positive will be contacted by Student Support and Guidance Tutors (SSGTs) who are embedded within each of our academic schools. The SSGT will make contact to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of the student is assessed and they are supported where required. All self-isolating students will be supported to continue to engage with their learning remotely and can also talk to their course leaders should they have any challenges with this.
