Our School of Health Sciences takes a keen interest in helping students understand the patient experience, through the work of its service user and carer involvement strategy group. This includes what it is like to be a patient or client receiving health and social care and how this affects family and friends who may also be giving some of that care.
It is important the group has a diverse membership representing people accessing health and social care services: the young, older people, male, female, black, minority ethnic groups, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered, those with different cultural and religious beliefs, people with learning disabilities and those who use mental health services. We welcome those who might want to get involved and share their experiences of health and social care. Find out more about our work below, and see how you can get involved.
