Rosa is the Sport and Exercise Science Support Officer at the Sport and Exercise Science Consultancy Unit (SESCU), working part-time, where she currently leads the delivery of performance analysis services and sport science taster days for school and college students.
She also assists with other support service areas delivered from the Unit including individual athlete support, support in environmental extremes and product testing.
Rosa graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2013 with a first class BSc(Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science. She then went on to complete an MSc degree in Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University. For her MSc project she investigated the effects of combining high intensity interval training with blood flow restriction on performance and peripheral adaptations in well-trained cyclists.
She also assisted on a study that looked at thermal perceptions of spinal cord injured athletes in the heat, including Paralympic triathletes and sailors.
Before joining SESCU Rosa completed an internship at the University of Birmingham’s Hi Performance Centre where she assisted with the delivery of laboratory and field based fitness assessments to scholarship students and external clients across a variety of sports.
Rosa has also worked as a Performance Analyst for Loughborough Lightning, an elite netball team who compete in the Netball Superleague.
