The organisation survey uses a 48-item questionnaire that enables an organisation to assess the extent to which it is agile - that is, quick to respond to changing circumstances and capable of meeting the needs of micro-markets. It uses the framework developed by CENTRIM’s agility research project.
There are four dimensions:
Organisations with an agile strategy are committed to proactive and real-time strategy development and to develop the required capabilities in their organisation to manage rapid change.
Organisations with agile processes have the skills, policies, assets, services, systems, procedures, facilities and processes to facilitate flexibility.
Organisations with agile linkages intensively benchmark processes and performance, co-operate with outside organisations, are responsive to customers, develop agility with suppliers and undertake ad hoc partnerships when this makes sense.
Organisations with agile people develop a flexible, multi-skilled workforce and create organisational structures and a culture that allows for initiative, creativity, learning and supportiveness to thrive.
The questionnaire is available in two forms: one for larger organisations and the second for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
