"Visiting CENTRIM is a unique and rewarding experience.
Being in the transition period of my career from a junior researcher into somewhat more experienced role, I face the challenge to reflect on my past research, refine the research questions been asked, shape/reshape the research agenda for the upcoming a few years. Visiting CENTRIM contributes to this challenge in many senses.
CENTRIM has the right people to provide relevant, professional advices just on the spot, no matter it is a formal dialogue or an informal conversation that I need. I find it valuable to work with a well balanced research team with both senior mentors and young researchers. I could always find someone to go for advices and someone to go for a brainstorming.
I have different channels to share my thoughts/research with not only CENTRIM people but also a wider community (across University of Brighton and University of Sussex for example). This is very important to make the visiting a dual-way process. I have delivered several research seminars both in CENTRIM and in Brighton Business School to share my research as well as receiving feedback.
During my stay, I have shaped a clear research agenda on Innovation in the context of emerging economy. I have explored the opportunities to apply for fundings with the help from CENTRIM and the University. Needless to say the spacious and relaxing open planned office site are particularly helpful in promoting innovative ideas.
With the valuable inputs from CENTRIM, I have completed three papers, one book chapter, and was awarded a Fellowship by Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in my 11 months' time as a visiting fellow, a very fruitful experience!”
