A business school sits at the heart of a set of economic communities: local, regional, national and international. CIMER delivers research that matters at different times to different parts of this nested community. With a grasp of the bigger picture, we recognise the links, for example, between government Private Finance Initiative policy, large corporate bidding processes, sub-contracting to a localised SME sector and the management and leadership of such complex processes
Our overview enables our researchers to provide insight and knowledge all along the value chain. Equally, our commissioned research and interventions can ignite the interest of our researchers into a specific issue, generating new knowledge and informing our curriculum. CIMER is a marketplace for ideas for the benefit of both industry and academia.
Our research reaches both the practitioner community and academic domain through conferences, journals, advocacy groups and practitioner publications and the press. We endeavour wherever possible when under contract with clients to publish in the public domain.
Recent research has demonstrated both immediate and slower impacts on organisational policy, strategy and transformation across a range of organisations and sectors. Organisations who have sponsored or commissioned development work from CIMER include the Department of Trade and Industry, the Cabinet Office, the NHS, Securicor, Serco, The Irish Health Service, London Probation, the British Retail Consortium, Allied Irish Bank, Ericsson and BOC.
